Notes to Serving Ones Regarding Talking Points:
1. Talking points progress from simple to more complex. To afford the maximum enjoyment, they are to be shared with the children in a story like manner, not merely read aloud.
2. Talking points should be shared two or three points at a time. Then sing a song or two! Then share a little bit more! Then sing a little more! Remember, children do not have the capacity for a long sharing.
3. Remember singing will impart more than our sharing!

Talking Points:
1. David was a person who honored his family, his country and God.

2. When his brothers were fighting, he took food to care for them.

3. When Goliath spoke against God and his people, David stood up to fight against him. He would not sit quietly when God and his people were dishonored. Even though he was much smaller than Goliath, he stood up for the cause.

4. When David confronted Goliath, he honored God. Although Goliath despised him, David was confident that God would care for him. David defeated Goliath.

5. David was a person who honored God and honored others.

6. Like David, we can honors others. We can honor others by greeting them, using manners, showing respect to older people, and finding out what they like. To take the opportunity to think about others instead of focusing on yourself is to honor others.
