Craft – Older Children – Kaleidocycles

PREPARATION NEEDED PRIOR TO LESSON 5:

  • Copy attached Kaleidocycles onto white cardstock (we used White 67#, 8”x11” from Walmart) – CLICK HERE FOR TEMPLATE
  • Please color, cut, and assemble one on your own prior to serving time so that you’ll be familiar with the process
  • Glue or tape together and play with it so that you’ll be able to show the children

Materials needed:

  • Kaleidocycles printed on white cardstock (copy these ahead of time – please see attached) – CLICK HERE FOR TEMPLATE
  • Crayons, markers, pencils
  • Scissors
  • School Glue or tape
  • Assorted colored cardstock cut into 2.5”x4.5” pieces
  • Memory Verse printed on Avery 5163 Mailing Labels (we used a larger size for the longer verse)

Instructions:

  • Show each child how to play with the Kaleidocycles
  • Let them choose a design to color and cut out; follow the directions for cutting and folding along the lines
  • Using glue or tape, assemble the Kaleidocycles – Gluing gives a nicer finish, but you cannot play with it until the glue dries. Taping is not so aesthetically pleasing, but you can play with it right away.

Session Five
Verse Memorization Game

Older and Younger Children

Who Is…Game
Call out different scenarios: Who is wearing tennis shoes? Who has a birthday this month? Who is wearing red? Each time a scenario is called, those who fit that scenario stand and say the verse together.
