Notes to Serving Ones Regarding Talking Points:

  1. Talking points progress from simple to more complex. To afford the maximum enjoyment, they are to be shared with the children in a story like manner, not merely read aloud.
  2. Talking points should be shared one or two points at a time. Then sing a song or two! Then share a little bit more! Then sing a little more! Remember, children do not have the capacity for a long sharing.
  3. Remember singing will impart more than our sharing!

Talking Points:

Younger Children:

  1. When you look out into the sky at night, it is not empty. There are stars and planets that are far, far away.
  2. Can you see the stars at night? God made them.
  3. Can you count the stars? God made many, many stars.
  4. God can do anything. He can make big things, like the night sky. He can make many things like the many, many stars.

Older Children:

  1. If you look through a powerful telescope, you can see the planets and the stars that God made.
  2. The stars and planets move on a definite, consistent path.  They are organized and predictable.
  3. The placement and movement of the planets and stars show that they were created by God. They did not appear by accident or by chance.
  4. The universe with the planets and stars is so big we cannot even imagine it.  If we flew full speed ahead in rocket for our whole lives, we would not even reach the stars we can see at night.
  5. The stars and planets are beautiful.  Even the planets that are in our galaxy have characteristics that make each one unique and interesting.
  6. The creation of the universe shows us that God is infinite and wise.
