Notes to Serving Ones Regarding Talking Points:

  1. Talking points progress from simple to more complex. To afford the maximum enjoyment, they are to be shared with the children in a story like manner, not merely read aloud.
  2. Talking points should be shared one or two points at a time. Then sing a song or two! Then share a little bit more! Then sing a little more! Remember, children do not have the capacity for a long sharing.
  3. Remember singing will impart more than our sharing!

Talking Points:

Younger Children:

  1. When you look outside, what do you see? Do you see mountains and trees? God made them.
  2. When God made the earth, He didn’t leave it empty like a house with no furniture. He filled it with things to see like rocks and rivers, mountains and lakes.
  3. God also made trees so that we could have fruit to eat.
  4. God made plants so that we could have vegetables to eat.
  5. Plants and trees can also be used to make houses and clothing. God thought of all kinds of things so that we would have what we need.

Older Children:

  1. After God created the earth, He didn’t leave it empty. The earth is full of different landscapes for us to see and enjoy.
  2. The mountains and the valleys, the rivers and the streams are beautiful and functional. They are beautiful to look at and provide us with what we need.
  3. God also made trees and plants which provide us with food, shelter, medicine and clothing.
  4. Every year, all the people living all over the world are supplied with food from the plants and trees God made.
  5. God’s creation of all the things on the earth shows that He knows how to meet our needs in a beautiful and brilliant way.
