Lesson #4 Topic: God Made the Creatures
Verses: Gen. 1:25; John 1:3; Col. 1:16
Memory Verses:

  • Gen. 1:25 – And God made the animals of the earth according to their kind and the cattle according to their kind and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind, and God saw that it was good.
  • John 1:3 – All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not one thing came into being which has come into being.
  • Col. 1:16 – Because in Him all things were created, in the heavens and on the earth, the visible and the invisible… all things have been created through Him and unto Him.

Notes to Serving Ones Regarding Talking Points:

  1. Talking points progress from simple to more complex. To afford the maximum enjoyment, they are to be shared with the children in a story like manner, not merely read aloud.
  2. Talking points should be shared one or two points at a time. Then sing a song or two! Then share a little bit more! Then sing a little more! Remember, children do not have the capacity for a long sharing.
  3. Remember singing will impart more than our sharing!

Talking Points:

Younger Children:

  1. See all the animals?  God made them.  Every animal you see was made by God.
  2. God made some animals that give us food.  For example, cows make milk.
  3. Baby animals look like their parents.  Cats have kittens, and dogs have puppies.  
  4. God made it this way.

Older Children:

  1. After God made the earth, He filled it with living creatures.
  2. God made fish, animals and insects of every imaginable variety.
  3. Not only are all the living creatures interesting and different, they also provide for man’s needs.
  4. God set up a lovely system so that each animal is according to its kind.  
  5. Every animal that is born on the earth is unique, yet its features are consistent so that we can tell what it is.  All animals have animals according to their kind.
  6. God made some animals that provide food and clothing for us.  
  7. Even our pets were made by God.
  8. The creation of all the living things on earth shows that God is orderly and creative at the same time.
