Acts Activities & Crafts (Lesson #5)
Younger & Older Children – Beaded Keychains
Materials needed:
- Memory verses printed on mailing labels (we used Avery 5160)
- Colored cardstock cut into 1.5”x3” rectangles
- Contact paper cut into 3.25”x3.25” squares
- Assorted wooden or plastic beads – with larger holes
- String or Hemp Cord cut into 12” lengths
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Ruler
- Key rings (in craft section of Walmart or Hobby Lobby, Michaels)
Instructions:
- Give each child a memory verse label, cardstock and square of Contact paper.
- Stick memory verse onto cardstock.
- Peel off paper backing from Contact paper and place it on the table. Carefully lay the cardstock onto the Contact paper. Fold Contact paper over top of cardstock. Trim excess Contact paper.
- Punch a hole into one end of the Contact paper/cardstock. Set aside.
- Ask each child to choose a piece of string, beads, and keyring.
- Loop string onto key ring and slide beads onto string.
- Tie a knot at the bottom to keep the beads in place.
- Trim the string to desired length.
