Lesson #5 Topic: God Made Man

Memory Verse Bookmarks (K-6th Grades)
*NOTE: SOME PREPARATION IS NEEDED PRIOR TO CONFERENCE SESSION.

- ALL 7 Memory verses (Lessons 1-6) printed on Avery 5160 or 8160 mailing labels*
- Assorted cardstock cut into 2”x3 ½” rectangles, 7 per child
- Assorted cardstock, cut into 2 ½”x6” rectangles, 6 per child
- Assorted cardstock, cut into 8 ½”x5 ½” (8 ½ x 11 cardstock cut in half), 1 per child
- Boy/Girl figures printed onto white paper, CLICK HERE FOR TEMPLATE shared between children
- Paper cutter (helpful, but not required)
- Yarn or thin ribbon, cut into approx. 5″ lengths, 6 per child
- Glue stick or double-sided tape
- Stapler with staples (optional)
- Hole punch
- Crayons, colored pencils, or markers
- Scissors
Instructions:
- Making the Bookmark Holder: Give each child an 8 ½” x 5 ½” (largest) cardstock rectangle and have them bring the 2 short sides together, folding it in half. Tape or staple shut the long side and 1 of the short sides of the holder (see photo above). Write their name at the bottom of the
bookmark holder. - Give each child 7 of the 2”x3 ½” (smallest) cardstock rectangles and each of the 7 Memory Verse
labels. Stick one Memory Verse onto each of the cardstock rectangles. - Tape or glue the “I will praise You, for I am awesomely and wonderfully made…” Memory Verse rectangle to the upper front of the Bookmark Holder as shown on the photo above, leaving space for the boy/girl cutout.
- Making Bookmarks: Hand out 6 of 2 ½”x3 ½” (medium) cardstock rectangles and glue or tape the Memory Verse rectangles to the center of each rectangle.
- Using a hole punch, punch a hole at the top of each bookmark. Distribute 6 ribbons to each child and help them attach a ribbon through the hole of each bookmark. Place all 6 Memory Verse bookmarks into the pocket of the bookmark holder. They can write their name on the back of each bookmark, if they want.
- Hand out the boy/girl printouts and crayons, markers, or colored pencils. Let them choose which figure they want and help them cut it out to fit onto the front of their bookmark holder. Color the boy/girl and tape or glue them onto the front of the bookmark holder beneath their Memory Verse.
