The Bible - Activities & Crafts (Lesson #2)

Memory Verse: Exodus 34:27 And Jehovah said to Moses, Write these words, for according to the speaking of these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.

Younger & Older Children – Dry Erase Boards 
*ATTENTION: SOME PREPARATION NEEDED PRIOR TO CONFERENCE SESSION

Materials needed:

  • 8×8 or similar-sized acrylic photo frames (order from Dollartree.com or Amazon)
  • Expo or Dry Erase Markers, one per child
  • Memory Verse printed onto Avery 5160 or 8160 Mailing Labels. Do prior to session*
  • Assorted cardstock cut into 1 ½” x 3 ½” rectangles, TWO per child. Cut prior to session*
  • Assorted patterned scrapbook paper or lined writing paper, cut to fit picture frame
  • Colorful ribbon, cut approximately into 18” lengths
  • Adhesive backed Velcro circles or squares
  • Glue dots, these come in strips at Hobby Lobby, Walmart (craft aisle), or Amazon
  • Colorful Pom-Poms, 1”-1 ½” in diameter
  • Scissors
  • Pencil or pen

Instructions:

  • Give each child TWO rectangle pieces of cardstock, a Memory Verse label, and a pencil or pen.
  • Affix the Memory Verse label, centering it onto one of the cardstock pieces. Write their name on the other cardstock.
  • Hand each child the plastic photo frame, remove wrapper and labels.
  • Let the children choose a sheet of scrapbook paper, trimming it to fit the photo frame.
  • Use Glue Dots to affix Memory Verse and name cardstock onto the scrapbook paper. Slide the scrapbook paper into the plastic frame.
  • Give them a length of ribbon and help them make a bow. Use Glue Dots to stick ribbon bow onto the photo frame, leaving room in the center of the photo frame for writing.
  • Hand out Dry Erase markers and Velcro pieces. Affix one side of Velcro to the side of the cap of marker and the other side of Velcro to the side of the frame to hold the pen in place.
  • Stick a Pom-Pom onto the top of the cap of marker with Glue Dots. This is the eraser for the marker.
