Younger Children \u2013 Cotton Ball Sheep<\/span><\/p>

Materials needed: <\/u><\/strong>
\u2022 Memory verse(s) printed onto sheets of mailing labels (we used Avery 5160)
\u2022 6″-8\u201d sized paper plates
\u2022 Bags of cotton balls, approx. 30 balls per child (Several Sam\u2019s Club sized bags)
\u2022 Black cardstock
\u2022 Template for head & legs, one per child* \u2013 *Click here to Print Template*<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0
<\/strong>\u2022 Googly eyes, 2 per child
\u2022 TEM Pencil
\u2022 Scissors
\u2022 Glue
\u2022 Disposable sponge craft brushes for spreading glue (optional, but nice)
\u2022 8\u201d of yarn or string per child
\u2022 Hole punch
\u2022 Colored cardstock cut into 1.5\u201dx3\u201d rectangles<\/p>

*For K-1st grade, you may pre-cut the sheep\u2019s head & legs for them.
**Children can make a slightly larger sheep using a luncheon-sized paper plate. We have provided templates labeled \u201cSmall Sheep\u201d for the snack-sized plates and \u201cLarge Sheep\u201d for the luncheon-sized plates. The process is similar, but make sure you have enough cotton balls.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/p>

Instructions:<\/u><\/strong>
<\/u><\/strong>\u2022 Give each child a paper plate and pencil.
\u2022 Write their names on the front of the plate (side you would normally put food on).
\u2022 Give each child approximately 30 cotton balls. Slightly pull cotton balls apart to give a fluffier look.
\u2022 Lightly squeeze glue onto the back of the plate, spreading until a thin layer of glue evenly covers the plate. Using a sponge craft brush may be easier for spreading the glue, and you can just throw the brush away afterwards.
\u2022 Place cotton balls onto the back of the plate, completely covering the plate with cotton balls. Lightly press down to make sure the cotton balls stick to the plate.
\u2022 Set the plate aside to dry.
\u2022 Trace the sheep\u2019s head and legs onto black paper. Cut out the pieces.
\u2022 Glue the googly eyes onto the face of the sheep.
\u2022 Glue the head onto the sheep. Glue the legs onto the other side of the plate (the side without cotton balls).
\u2022 Give each child a memory verse label and a rectangular piece of cardstock.
\u2022 Stick the Memory Verse onto a piece of cardstock. Punch a hole into the paper plate and another hole into the cardstock tag. Using a piece of yarn, fasten the tag onto the plate.<\/p>

Older Children \u2013 Clothespin Sheep<\/span><\/p>

Materials Needed: <\/strong>
\u2022 Memory verse printed onto sheets of mailing labels (we used Avery 5160 labels)
\u2022 Colored cardstock, cut into 2.5\u201dx5\u201d rectangles
\u2022 Slotted, rounded, wooden clothespins, four per sheep (correct type of clothespins shown on supplies photo)
\u2022 Non-waxy paper or plastic drinking 10-12 oz cups, one per child (not Styrofoam)
\u2022 Cotton balls (we suggest several Sam\u2019s Club sized bags)
\u2022 Black markers to color the sheep\u2019s feet
\u2022 Sheep\u2019s head\/tail template \u2013 *Click here to Print Template*<\/strong><\/a>
\u2022 Black cardstock
\u2022 Googly eyes
\u2022 Tape
\u2022 Glue
\u2022 Small paper plates for glue
\u2022 Sponge craft brushes, 1 for every two children (Hobby Lobby or Amazon sells in bulk)
\u2022 Scissors
\u2022 Pencils
\u2022 Hole punch
\u2022 Yarn or string<\/p>

Instructions:
<\/strong>\u2022 Give each child a Memory Verse label and a piece of cardstock.
\u2022 Stick the MV label onto the cardstock.
\u2022 Ask children to write their names on the back of Memory Verse tag.
\u2022 Using the template for the sheep\u2019s head and tail, trace and cut these from the black cardstock. Set these aside.
\u2022 Give each child four clothespins and a cup.
\u2022 Using a black marker, color the rounded part of the clothespin for the sheep\u2019s feet.
\u2022 Turn the cup upside down onto the clothespins, slipping the rim of the cup over the divided part of each clothespin. Place two clothespins closer together to form the front legs of the sheep. Do the same to form the hind legs of the sheep. Secure the clothespins with tape on the inside of the cup.
\u2022 Pour glue onto paper plate; have two children share a plate of glue and a sponge brush.
\u2022 Turn the cup upside-down and slip a fist inside the cup. Holding it like this, while brushing a light coating of glue onto the outside of the cup, will keep your hands clean.
\u2022 Gently press cotton balls onto the outside of the cup, including the bottom of the cup (which would be the top of the sheep). Completely cover the cup with cotton balls.
\u2022 Punch a hole on either side of the Memory Verse card and make a little hanger using a piece of yarn or string. Glue this to the cotton on the front of the sheep.
